Unaffiliated Horse Trials

We are running a Championship this year in conjunction with Mattingley and Borde Hill. It is called:

"Southern Unaffiliated Horse Trials Championships"

       Winner of Pre Intro Championship  ---   Rathsallagh Royale ridden by Chloe Mariani

Winner of Intro Championship  ---  Dendy Van De Roshoere ridden by Beth Robertson

Winner of Pre Novice Championship  ---  The Merchant of Venice ridden by Heidi Reed

2012

April 14th and 15th.  Pre Novice, Intro and Pre Intro.

August 22nd - 23rd. Pre Novice, Intro and Pre Intro

October 6th and 7th.  Pre Novice, Intro and Pre Intro and Championship.

  

 

Southern Unaffiliated Horse Trials Championships Rules

 

1. The Championships will be for Pre Novice, Intro and Pre Intro classes. Course heights will  be:- 

       Pre Novice up to 1 metre

       Intro up to 0.9 metre

       Pre Intro up to 0.8 metre.

 2. Qualifying Competitions will be held at Tweseldown, Borde Hill and Mattingley.

       

3.  Horses or ponies must be ridden by the same rider throughout the qualifying process and at the finals.  A rider may qualify with different horses/ponies.   At each qualifying competition, points will awarded to the top ten horse and rider combinations in each section, with 10 points for the first placed, 9 for the second, 8 for the third and so on to 1 for the tenth placed.   In the event of a tie for places, the points will be divided equally between the tied combinations   Points won at any or all of the qualifying competitions at each height will be accumulated and the 45 horses with the most points earned at each height will qualify to enter the finals at that height at Tweseldown on the 15th and 16th October. 

4. Horses/ponies must be 5 years or older.

 5. Horses/ponies must be over 132cm in height.

6. Riders must attain the age of 12 years in 2012

7. Points won in BE events will not apply.

8. These horse trials will be run in accordance with the rules of British Eventing, except where varied above and the  making of an entry constitutes acceptance of these rules.
